Time to move on

So recently I have been thinking to move out of this place I am renting nearby campus (kost-an). Have not surveyed all those kost-an at Permata but I think either by next month or latest by next semester, I will move out.

Perhaps some of you who have known this place I am living (Belida 1) will always wonder why am I so faithful to have lived there for about 3 semesters. The place is pretty much run down it looked like some kind of those house you would see in horror movies. It is also pretty dirty, considering you can find all kind of pests like cockroaches, mosquitoes, ants, lizards, rats, whatever it is you name it, we have it here.

Initially the reason why I stayed there for so long was because I did not have car during first days of semester one and the place is near the campus so I can just walk my way to commute to campus. But now that I have a ride, I guess I can live pretty much anywhere.

But then I got lazy. I was lazy to check out places at Permata and I was lazy too pack up my things to move. A month, two month, a semester, two semesters gone by and I had gotten so used to the place, it kind of start to feel like home (although I still dont really like the place...)

Then it got me thinking, have I been too used and convenient with this place that made me lazy to search for a new better one? I have thought about this over and over again, the place is ugly, never really give me that much of benefits (the price is about the same as those nice places in Permata, moreover the shared bathroom, the electricity, etc) then why have I been staying for so long and faithful?

Maybe it’s because I am afraid to find a new one, a new challenge and environment. Maybe it’s just me that have gotten so comfortable.. and used to this kind of environment.

It’s funny, it feels just like a relationship. I know about this and writing this now because it’s a personal story, it just seems like some situation that I am familiar with.

I have seen some of my friends’ relationships that I know just would not work out but they still hold on to it anyway. There are just to much bickering, too much crying, suffering and tears, it feels like the best way is to end it but they just never break up. And no, they stayed not because if love.

Some just stayed because they are so used of being together that they cannot face the burden of being alone again. They got so comfortable of each other and refuse to find a new and better love, not because they can’t, but they just do not want to.

Face it, there are just some relationships that are not meant to be. It has been hurting and disappointing...making you at loss.

I know that ending it is not a simple and reasonable decision but sometimes, when you know the road leads you to a blocked end, you really need to take a turn and drive away.

And maybe just like me, soon enough you need to find a more reasonable place to live in.

Faith Holds You

My mother once told me that she salutes and respects Islam and its followers.

She said Muslims are faithful, practices religion like no one else can imagine. They pray five times a day according to the time that has been set precise, pray in a direction that has been geographically determined (to the Kiblat), fasts, donates, still does animal sacrifices, dresses in a certain distinct way (hijab for the women) and many more.

She will then encourage me to do the same for my belief. I mean, she says that I should be more faithful to my religion. Must I say, I am not the best Christian. I tend to slack off during services, forgot prayers and still do so many other sins that I don't know how to atone.

Nevertheless in this Ramadhan month, it made me realize how important faith is to your religious life. Someone who has strong faith tend to be more optimistic (something which I do not think I have), they believe, they put faith and it holds them together.

Faith keeps you strong.

Faith helps in everything you do.

Even if it is in your darkest hour, as long as you have faith, it seems that everything is solvable.

Therefore I think I should be a stronger believer. I have to be. I need to put in my best behaviour and stop acting like a spoiled Christian, thinking that God will forgive everything that I did.

For the first time this year I fasted, but it was not exactly straight for 30 days, and I drank water (-_-), I think I need to be a better 'faster', if ever there's such a word. I need not be a Muslim to fast, Chritianity and most of other religions actually teach their followers to fast too.

Fasting does not only symbolize the strength to stop your desire, lusting and practice patience, but it is somehow recommended in the medicinal world too. Some technique of fasting is similar to detoxification that removes toxin in the body.

Anyway, I think I shall learn to fast again. I need to try to hold stronger to my faith :)

haha. well, many drama-watching, of course and that's why I am writing this post.

Let's just start with my own version of top dramas.

I used to watch a lot of dramas, Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, Americans, you name it. But recently stopped and have no mood for it. I don't know why.
Old dramas are better, actually. I watched My Fair Lady (Princess Huan Zhu), Meteor Garden, MVP Lover, 100% Senorita, Endless Love, Stairway to Heaven, Prince Turns to Frog, Sad Love Story, Goong, Only You, Full House.. were my favorites.

Recently Secret Garden was stealing my attention too. *Kimsoohanmoo,gobugiwadurumi,samchobaksangobangsak...*

Favorite American TV drama List and Why

My list and knowledge regarding US' TV drama is actually limited. I just started watching western series, to tell the truth. I used to like

5) Vampire Diaries Season 2

Threesome and why

Do not even ask me about season 1 because I actually yawned all the way and skipped watching so many parts, I actually don't know what's going on. Season 2 is indeed much more interesting!!
The plots are mysterious and Nina Dobrev's double roles is worth a thumb up.
I am not a fan of vampires, actually. I certainly do not pay much attention about the Twilight gaga, but there's something in this series that is attractive.

I still have not decided who to like more - Damon or Stefan. Sometimes Stefan looks hotter and more often than not, Damon's smirk just makes you want to cuddle him to bed. Oh life is indeed full of difficult choices to make.

4) Gossip Girl

BLAAAAIIIRR PEOPLE, BLAIR!

Okay the story is basically about rich spoiled kids sleeping and mix-matching with their friends all round just to find love. Nate-Blair, Blair-Chuck, Dan-Serena, Nate-Serena, almost Dan-Blair, just add Vannesa and other characters and you can do all the mix-matching you want within this social circle. Hey, it's like permutation and combination in high school!!! How many different pairings is possible to make within Nate, Blair, Chuck, Serena, Jenny, Chuck again... can you make?

Nevertheless BLAIIIIRRRRRR makes up for it. Rather, Leighton Meester. Seriously, even just her dimples makes up the whole GG bad storyline. I don't know why, I just love her.

3) House

For once I actually hope House would stop being so miserable

I like the interesting medical insight. But seriously, almost all episodes are the same. A simple cause (bug bite, poisoning, most ridiculous a toothpick pricked the intestines???) -> Serious illness -> Complication -> Multiple organ failure -> House insults someone -> House then insult another one -> Suddenly boom! House thinks of something out of an insult or while throwing the stress ball and then problem solved. Patients recovered.

Although I like some different episodes like the flashback ones, I would like more of the 'personal' episodes regarding the main casts, I particularly liked 13's lesbian episodes and Cameron-Chace romance. And please Cameron, I really really like you but why do you have to be such a !@#$# (-_-)

2) Grey's Anatomy

Oh seriously Heigl.. why left?

My ultimate favorite! But currently it is not on top, mostly because I know it will bounce back to the top once season 8 and its epic episode air. Grey's will always be my first love.
I love all the earlier season and it obviously gotten ridiculous at some episodes but regains it's might at end of season 6 all the way to season 7.

Grey's is the most quoted drama, with wise opening words and interesting portray of human-human relationship. I adore Christina-Meredith ultimate friendship, they call each other as their 'person' and earn the nickname 'Dark and Twisted Sisters'.

Nevertheless the lesson that hits me the most is about this 'level of acceptance/denial (?)' I kind of forget. Anyway, it tells us that actually there are some steps of accepting the truth. First they deny, get angry, then they try to avoid, and eventually surrender and accept. Something like that.
It hits me how it is really speaks the truth.

1) Desperate Housewives

Season 5 is the sh*t, I'm telling you.

Since when the crazy Scavo twins became hot?

MJ Delfino, you cute little thing, you!

Current obssession! It's simple, crazily funny and entertaining. You know what is the biggest reason it is able to dethrone my all time love Grey's Anatomy? Due to it's simple storyline. I get it if a story about a top notch hospital, with famous surgeons and interesting patients able to attract attention. However, Desperate Housewives is not.

It is a humble story about a suburb area called Wisteria Lane. What could be interesting on something like that? If you write a story about your living area (say, Beverly Golf area), how much can you write out of that?

Nevertheless, this series stays awesome for seven seasons despite it is only about four housewives.

My personal favorite is the story about Eli the Handyman. Some people might find it boring, but that episode really touch my heart.

I did not include Pretty Little Liars, Off the Map, HIMYM, OR Supernatural. I wanted to watch The Office, Chuck, Dexter and E.R if I have the time to buy, or the internet connection to download :3

Pretty Little Liars is interesting initially. With the awesome clothes and pretty people there, it manages to steal my attention for several episodes. After that, I started to get bored of this whole mysterious A and the four best friends' shocked reactions after knowing A did something to them.

Off the Map is really interesting too! It's about the medical world in a jungle but sadly, it ends at the first season so I ran out of episodes before judging whether the series worth mentioning or not.

As for HIMYM and Supernatural, I just started watching and hopefully they won't let me down.

I''ll do Japanese/korean/taiwanese review next time! :3

Let's talk about MEN.

I was reading a magazine and the article was an interview with supposedly one of Indonesia’s ‘eligible bachelor’. A question asks what type of woman he would like to date and the answer states ‘a feminine girl, but not high maintenance’.

Before I start blogging – some of you might assume this is a ranting, complaining, self-denying, or anything else negative – let me put it this way. This writing shall be about a personal view of mine, anything I said might be subjected to what I believe in.

I like to read a lot on articles regarding men’s preferences, perfume, clothing, food, way of thinking.. Basically anything. Of course, their preference of women is included. Here are some of some RIDICULOUS preferences I have ever read.

1) “Preferably someone who looks good in jeans, nice figure, can eat a lot – especially the food I made”.

2) “Someone who are willing to bear me many children, and not obssesed with branded bags”.

3) “Someone feminine and not high maintenance”.

There are so many ridiculous and selfish ones but I could not remember many at the moment.

Anyway, let’s analyze those statements one by one.

Statement number 1 basically asks for a women who has high metabolism, can eat buckets of fried chickens but he wants the girl to still fit on skinny jeans without flaunting any excess fats.

Statement number 2 actually asks a girl to breed like an animal and in compensation, not even handing her a proper bag which eventually will be used to store the husband’s items like car keys, purse, tissues, and God-knows-what items.

Third statement actually wants a girl who have nice curled hair, stylish clothes, nice heels, great make up with perfect nails only to have everything less than SGD 100. You serious??? At this economy??

I wrote this not to degrade men. I don’t judge them for being practical and logical. It’s just.... there are so many things in female’s life that they do not understand. The way I interpret those statements above might be exaggerated, but trust me, the meaning is somewhat, somewhere there.

When a girl spends too much (time, money, effort) on clothes, make-ups, heels, bags, that’s just because females are the most insecure human being. We want to look our best to impress men, just as we know men are ‘visual’ human being. Yet some men might interpret it wrongly, saying that they really ‘do not mind’ we dress simply, but when a perfect looking woman pass by, men’s heads still turned around and they still rate the woman’s ass, boobs or whatever it is, out of ten.

When we are being petty and ate so little, it's not because we do not appreciate the dinner you are buying us. Yes, it looked irritating and uncomfortable that your companion for dinner do not have the same hearty appetite as you. The truth is, we are scared that one blob of fat might show up the next morning, and then guys might start not to appreciate us. All the more, the may start to look up to that neighboring bitch we are scared to lose you to.

When a girl is being concerned, asking men to cut on their drinking, spending on cars or games, it is because many girls do not want themselves to be second priorities. I guess females are insecure, selfish, illogical and many other nonsensical words to describe us.

To sum up, I think the effort that females are making are often misinterpreted by men, when actually all we want to do is to fit into men’s preferences.

511 Couples

Before you judge the title, no, this post is not really about the four couples of the amazing 511 class. I wanted to write something about them but I hesitated and I think I should not because not only it would disrupt their privacy, I would sound like a complete stalker.

But somehow, I got the inspiration out of these couples. When you suddenly got together with a classmate and no one was expecting that, I kind of understand how big of a ruckus it would be. I (sort of) have been there before.

Anyway. This post is actually about Couple’s Genre.

Notice that every couple has it’s own ‘type’ and ‘feel’ that differentiates them from other couples? Our 511 couples are no different. I notice they have these special characteristics that makes them special.

Below are some examples of characteristics that I observe. Take note thay they are NOT 511 couples. But if you think they are, so be it :D

The Former Best Friends

They started out as friends, got closer as best friends and sparks of the fireworks of love was felt and then they become a couple. It’s either friendship that starts first and it blooms to love, or it was love first that initiates the friendship. I don’t know.

The good thing of this type of couple is you already know each other deep enough thus there would be no pretending with each other. You can act stupid together, name-calling would be no problem and each date would be much fun because not only you are going out with a lover, you are going out with your best friend as well.

The Husband and Wife Material

Not only they match each other, they look pretty much the same and their personalities are similar as well. From the start you could see that these two would be together just by standing side by side. Each date is romantic and you have bets with your friends that these two would marry each other.

The Opposite Attract

Just by looking briefly, you would not realize that they would complete each other’s life. They are different in many ways so much so that at most, you thought that they would only be best friends.

Nevertheless it is the difference that makes two person fits. Just like a jigsaw puzzle, two pieces need to have different shape in order to fit in together.

The Church Couple

There arent many things to describe now as this couple is pretty new. (Oops!)

When the altar boy meets the choir girl, you just know there would be things going on!

There are so many more special characteristics that I want to describe, like The Romantic Pair, The Crazy Ones and more. But I am too lazy to write it off :P

The Truth

So I was watching this medical drama (you’re correct, it’s House) and the episode was about this guy who couldn’t lie. He’s got a brain tumor on his forgot-which-lobe of his head.

The guy keep saying whatever he wants to say, hurting everyone’s feeling. And then it got me thinking, is the truth really what everyone wants to hear?

Is the lie, that is supposedly a sin, is worse than knowing the hurting truth?

Personally, I tend... to hide my feelings. I don’t really say the truth. If someone’s came up to me with a not-so-great-looking (okay, ugly is the word) shirt, maybe instead of telling the truth the thing I’d say is =

“Hmm.. I’m unsure, it’s unique but it doesn’t really suit my taste..again, I’m unsure, you might want to ask other people’s opinion”.

I would go round and round instead of telling that person it’s not that great.

Or i would try methods to hide the fact, or sugar-coat the fact makes it sound nicer to hear. Simple terms, I think I’m a big fat liar. Literally, it’s correct as well.

The reason why I did that is because I hate to hear the hurting words as well.

People tell me I’m big or fat, I would still smile, it doesn’t hurt but deep down I will always think, “Hey, there’s a nicer way to address me”. There are always, nicer terms to put any hurtful sentences. I think there are times where people are vulnerable and they do not want to hear the as sharp as a knife comment. It would not hurt to think for a second, rearrange our sentences and package it so that when it’s delivered to one’s ear, it does not sound as bitchy.

Almost every person in this world have a particular food they dislike. Be it tomato or apple, celery or leek, there is that meat or veggies they will set aside and wont touch it while eating their meals.

Ha. Notice something in common? They're all PLAIN food. i hate anything that has no taste!!
Boiled potatoes, and weird forms of rice (porridge, lontong, boiled rice vermicellis) are just plain silly to me.

But i'd take Bacang or fried ones (potatoes, rice or beehoon) because they have taste!

And i dont eat puddings as well. They are weird.

So far I enjoy all my classes here in UPH. They're not that fun, boring, difficult or that easy to deal with, ther're just.. so-so.

Tapi ada satu hal yang saya ga suka banget.
Yaitu Lab Anatomi~!!!
Mungkin hal ini berlaku di setiap FK di indonesia, tapi tetap saja, gw benci.

Lab-nya panas, ventilasinya jelek, bikin sesak napas dan sakit mata.

Okelah kalau cuma ga enak di bagian fisik doang. Tapi dari segi pendidikan, juga ga menguntungkan apa-apa.
I can stand ANYTHING, if eventually something benefits me in return. But here in this class?

SMS [Saya. Malas. Sekali]

Thanks to BBM and other form of communications, I can never treat SMS seriously again.

Lagipula, sudah jarang banget orang yang sms gw sekarang ini. Paling selain teman-teman yang tidak pakai BB, cuma iklan Indosat atau kadang Mami (kalau bbnya ga aktif). Tetap saja, biasanya 90% adalah iklan gak penting atau sms berantai yang menyebalkan.

Meski kadang udah ada yang tulis 'Bales ya, penting. Urgent'. Tetap aja gw akan bales paling cepet 10 menit setelah terima karena entah kenapa, jadi males banget SMS.

Apa karena gw pelit pulsa? Ga juga sih soalnya kalo sms udah kaya BB chat. satu sms bisa satu kata.. kaya "Haha" atau "LOL" atau "masa sih?" saking udah terbiasa BB.

Entah kenapa SMS udah kehilangan esensi 'pesan' atau elemen 'penting' disitu. Seakan-akan SMS itu seperti email yang bisa dibalas kapan saja, tanpa pengirim nungguin kabarnya.

Sejujurnya gw juga bukan fan BB yang gimana-gimana banget. Kalau bukan untuk BBM, group chat BB atau send media yang gampang lewat blackberry, ga bakalan gw beli bb.
Abis, jujur aja:
-bentuk BB jelek
-semua orang pake Hp yang sama ama u, pasaran banget.
-fiturnya juga ga bagus2 banget
-baterenya payah
-dan kayanya masi banyak kekurangan lainnya juga

Meski gw prediksi suatu saat BB akan wafat alias punah alias koit, untuk sekarang BB mendominasi lah di Indonesia.

Gym

Believe it or not, but I'm a big fan of indoor sports. Well, my body looks nothing like Victoria Beckham and you may question why I look THIS big even after doing sports.. well.. the answer is I dont know why.
Maybe it's just in the genes that I was not born with a stick-thin body.

Anyway, my love for running on the treadmill started about 4-5 years ago?? Anyway, it was after my dad bought a running machine and in Singapore I moved to a condominium with gym facility.
I started running, like religiously... About 5times per week and each session of running lasts about 30minutes. I admit it was because I wanted to lose weight.
But, oh my, of course in the end I didnt lose that much weight, partly because I didnt control my eating, but neverthelesss, I started to like that sport.

During that 30minutes of running you can listen to your favorite music through iPod without anyone bothering you. After the run you sweat like mad and the feeling was great. It's like endorphine that keeps you happy.

Maybe I didnt lose weight. My leg got more muscular instead of skinnier but well, who cares?
I exercise anyway.

Now I dont really exercise to lose weight. I'll just exercise to keep healthy.

And yes, I dont gym just because of it's the trend. I really exercise when i go to celebrity fitness.
Maybe I need to control my diet as well to lose weight.

Gue suka humor,ngelucu, atau apapun hal yang menimbulkan tawa. Maybe to the point sampe orang-orang suka ga anggap gw serius pas curhat, saking banyaknya gw interupsi dengan bercandaan-bercandaan ga jelas nan menyebalkan.
Mau disengaja atau tidak, gw suka ketawa dan membuat orang tertawa.

Mungkin itu karena gw punya gen autosomal dominan jayus dari bokap-nyokap kali ya, karena jujur aja, bokap gw itu suka bercanda (ngeledek, lebih tepatnya) dan nyokap gw jayusnya sih... *undescribable*
Atau mungkin karena faktor bacaan favorit gw dari kecil. Lupus, Shinchan, atau komik2 ga jelas dan ga mendidik lainnya deh gw lahap.

Tapi biar gimanapun juga, gw tetep punya batasan-batasan tertentu pas bercanda.

1) Ga menyinggung orang lain

dalam arti kata ga bawa2 SARA, atau becandaan fisik lainnya. Karena jujur aja, bercandaan fisik is not even funny, just plain rude. Gw ga pernah suka Tukul atau nonton show dia secara full mungkin karena alasan ini juga, karena dia suka banget main fisik.

2) Ga bawa nama orang tua/kakek nenek/keturunan lu

Hmm, mnurut gw, hindarin deh bawa-bawa "emak lu _______" atau " _______ bapak lu" pas berbicara. Jujur aja ini ngebetein banget dan ga sopan juga! Bayangin deh, orang tua kalian juga ga mungkin kan bercanda "anak gw _______" atau "_______ anak gw" ketika bercanda?? Respect the person who give you your lives (God as well). Hormati dia, meski cuma namanya.

3) pada waktunya

Dalam arti kata gak ketika orang itu lagi sibuk, belajar, nelpon atau apa deh. Terus terang aja, gw sih males kalo dibecandain ketika lagi serius belajar.

4) ga jorok

Sexual jokes is just plain NO. atau hal2 yang berhubungan dengan toilet. Biarlah hal yang mau dibuang pada tempat pembuangan akhir dibiarkan apa adanya, tanpa harus dibawa-bawa.. apalagi ke meja makan.

5) Ga membuat kesal orang lain

Dont mention one's sensitive past. Atau hal hal yang dianggap penting dalam hidupnya. Hormati teman kita sebagaimana kita juga mau dihormati.

itu aja sih.

Chemistry is sure more than just a periodic table

This is officially my first post in 2011. Happy new (or not so new) year anyway!

I shall not rant about how my days pass today, let's write something new. :P

For so long, I am always curious about this little thing called 'chemistry' in relationship. In the past, of course I did not know what the word meant but I guess I do now. I used to think the term 'chemistry' really refers to the scientific term.

Anyway, don't you find it funny that there's this two people; no matter how many similarities they have or things they mutually share, they just dont 'connect'. Awkwardness surrounds them and it's just really weird when they are together.

However there's this other couple, and not matter how different they are, they just straight away became friends; lovers even.

I have heard that chemistry can be built, but I still cannot figure how. Is it built by spending more time together? I don't know.

In my case, I have had some people which I found difficult to communicate comfortably. I just joked and talked about general stuff, even though I really feel like sharing some personal stories to them as I know they are fun and mature people.

By the way, the relationship I am talking about is not that kind of romantic relationship - just friendship or any social communication in general.

hmm, i really wish this thing 'chemistry' be gone sometimes..
just because, for that very simple reason.

Dear Lord, this is my first time writing a letter to you. I usually reach you through 'prayer' but since I havent been writing letters for a long time, let me write one for You.

Dear Lord, I thank you for this wonderful one year you have awarded me. This year I have experienceed so much, I have felt disappoinment, failure, hardship and sadness. I experienced shock, joy and happiness. I experienced everything.

Within a year, so many things have changed. I started a new life. I met new friends. I found 'second' family, i found new bestfriends. I am thankful :)

Within a year, i have also met something called 'pain'. The shock of my result and SG university stuff, the shock of grandma.. I am still thankful :')

So here is a list of wishes, well, shall not call it 'wishes' since it sounded very demanding.

I hope for everyone around me whom i love will always be blessed. Parents, family, friends, they are all important to me. Bless them so they are always safe and sound.

Thank you for getting me to FKUPH. Might not be the best uni in the country, might not be the best uni compared to Singapore's standard, but i am grateful. Hopefully my results are always satisfactory. God, guide me so i always get desired results :)

Country

There is this one thing that I have been dying to express. Growing up in a (well you can call it foreign if you want to) country that is everything called perfection, I thought of my own country is a bitch.
When June or December arrives, I will pack my bag and head to the airport to visit my birth city, Jakarta. Hell, that place is, was, and God knows it might always be, a mess.

You walk out through the Soekarno-Hatta Airport feeling hot and humid. People walk harassingly near you and couriers/bellboy/ or whatever-you-call-it is persuasively (almost attacking you) asked you to use their service to carry your luggage in return for a ten or maybe five thousand rupiah.
Then you walk to the Airport and splashes of dirty water, souvenir from yesterday’s downpour, dirty you new Nikes.

Face it. This country is a mess. You see no red tapes, the administration is rubbish, corruption decorates the whole country but this is it.
You cannot choose where you want to be born. There is this little thing in us, the traces of being an Indonesian that we tend to ignore. Being a bitch and complains a thousand thing about this city brings nothing to the table.
You complain about the traffic, electricity, corruption, police and internet, basically everything. Face it, it brings nothing to you.

We’ve had our share of shitty life here in Indonesia. Cars got stolen, your house got robbed and your wallet is taken by some 5-year-olds pickpocket. Well, welcome to Jakarta.

The big question then strikes me.

Have we done anything in return for this country?
Well, Indonesia might be hell but at the very least it provides you with lodging and (good) food. It might be one cancerous city with the disgusting lifestyle but it still gives us something.
Instead, we mock and mock.
We flee overseas bragging about the greatness of that side of the earth not even a word of promotion to Indonesia’s tourism.

Indonesia has their fair share of fashion yet we always sport that particular brand that comes from Europe, Japan and God knows what other countries.
Corruption? Any complains? How many of us have surrendered to giving 50k rupiah to beer-bellied policemen? Or pay more in order to have a fussy-free passport/identity card/driving license in process? Buying more cars than what the family should have? We did it.

Anyway, Indonesia is NOT the problem. We are.
Everyone has their fair share contributing to this mess. Government, ministers, police officers, teachers, doctors, civil servants, businessmen, students. We do.
In order for a change to be made, there is no easy way out. Either scrape the city and start from scratch or improvement to be made constantly at slow paces. Either way, patience is needed.

Complaining and contributing to the mess does not explain anything.

miracles

we know miracles are descibed as the extraordinary things that have happened to our lives. well, to my definition, at least. but thinking it all over again, maybe we're wrong. maybe we have misunderstood the term. Perhaps TVs, books, fairytales and hearsays have made the term becomes hyperbolic and exagerrated.

Miracles seem to be when someone magically recovers from a deadly diseases.
Miracles sound like when someone who has died, awakened again.
Miracles seem to be.... surviving a holocaust, accident, horror, whatever!

I have always hoped for miracles. Miracles come to people who believed in it.. Miracles come to people who patiently waited but now, i am not so sure. Maybe miracles are simple.

Probably miracles are ones when we wake up early and we found ourselves seeing the sunshine and breathing again. It's extraordinary right? We've survived another day from this scary world.

Maybe miracles are when we realize there are parents who stood by our sides whenever the world seem to look down on us.

Maybe miracles are when.... you look at the people you really cherish and love, and in their eyes you see that they care for you too.

I think, that may be the term for "miracles".

Miracles come to people who worked and earned it. It's for the brave, for the ones who are strong enough to realize the reality that "miracles" dont just come by and stop at out doors.

We are obliged to believe, but cannot expect it to happen all the time.

Crap i dont know what im writing. Maybe i lost hope in "miracles". Perhaps it'll come to my side at one fine day.

Singaporean education

You know, ever since I move to Singapore, I always complain about it. About the friends I met, the school I was going to, the food, the TV shows and everything.
But there is one I have never complained about, the moment I find myself learning in Singapore.
It is the education system.

I have never complained about the papers, the structures of the tests, the exams, the curriculum..
Well, maybe I complained about practicals a bit, because science practicals are just pain in the ass.

I find the structure of Spore Ed. system is soo perfect that I wish I can send my children later on to Spore to study.

I like how Singapore, unlike Jakarta, emphasizes on relevant subjects.
I admire how Spore focuses on creative thinking and analytical skills, something that not every children have and not something that can be easily studied.

Singaporean maths and sciences questions are incredibly weird, difficult and sickening in many ways.

but it is still perfect.

Sometimes i really pity myself for not being able to perfectly cope and immerse myself fully in such a perfect education system. If I was smarter, better and more disciplined, I can reap and benefitted a lot from this system..
But i just cant.

A different kind of love

Actually, I have never really paid great attention to all the caring and loving by people around me. Maybe I am an obnoxious girl who is just oblivious to those around and within her, that’s why i grow up to be so ignorant. But, after spending some time with my family back here (it’s my 3^rd month in Jakarta, my longest time spending holidays back home in Jakarta ever since I went over to Singapore for education) I recall, realize and understand many things.

I did not know that my uncles and aunties can actually be caring like that. What they do might not be much, of course it’s a different kind of love from parents and core members of the family, but it’s just there. You can feel the love. It’s like your shadow. You can’t really see it, you don’t think it’s that important but it’s always there.

When I was young my auntie used to tuck me to sleep and tell me stories. Then we prayed together. I was young, I didn’t understand what the prayer meant but now, if I were to think again, it was a very sad prayer. . .

Then I used to hate my ever nagging-uncle. He likes to brag about himself (LOL.) and is extremely talkative to the point that you wish he would stop because it’s such a hindrance. But last December, he gave me a birthday present. So sweet of him. He wasn’t financially established; in fact he was in need of money. But he still sends me that present and I finally realize, that he actually care for me and my siblings.

And then there’s another uncle whom I adored. I remember my moments with him because he is the only uncle whom I witness his dating period, his wedding ceremony, even during his wife’s pregnancy and birth of his sons. That uncle of mine might be lazy. He might not be the best man on earth but he cares. He kind of stood up for me in times I’m in need. I don’t care whether he really menas all that loving and caring or just he feels that he is “obliged” to do so since I am his sister’s daughter. But he still cares. He worries for me and I am thankful of that.

I wish I can be a niece that they are proud of. I can be someone they can say, “Hey, ive watched that girl grows up! “

I wish.

University admission

So this is it. I got accepted to law faculty in Atma Jaya. I don’t know what to do. I am sad because i don’t know whether I should take that opportunity or not. I am sad because I don’t know what to choose. I am sad because I don’t know what my talent is. I am sad because I am just so clueless and helpless. Tomorrow is the last day. I can pay the school fee and be admitted, but..

Now I think I know where and what to study, but i don’t have enough confidence to think I can make it. There’s another entrance test next month and I have decided to take part. I want to be so I WILL be. Maybe in the past, I fool around so much I did not do well, but I want to change.

I have decided to change.

Good luck for myself, then.

Anyway while taking and entrance exam I met my CJC scholar friend again. Oh goodness, how happy I was! It was such a stupid incident! So I was alone waking to the exam hall and I noticed a tall woman who looked Caucasian walking towards a similar direction as mine. So we walked together and even sat together. During English test, my NEWLY AND LOVELY eraser flew off my table and rolled towards her side. I was hesitant because the test was ongoing and I could not just walk over and pick up that eraser. So I waited till the exam is over. A while later I realized somebody HAD TAKEN that ERASER. GRRRRRR..... So I walked to that Caucasian-looking lady, asked her about the eraser and GASPS.. She was wearing CJC CHOIR jacket. LOL. SHE WAS (AND IS) MY FRIEND!!!!!

How stupid I was. I didn’t recognize it was her. After I got admitted to JJC i just lost contact with all my CJC friends. But it’s Jessica!! She was SOOOO much fairer and sported different hairstyle and hair colour. She took off her braces too, how can i recognize her??

Funny how after i went back Jakarta then i met with them again. Like Kinshi, I met with her classmates in Goethe (!). lol. Funny that the world is so big yet ironically, so small.

Anyway, she told me that Tiara got accepted in UPH civil engineering (Like Eddiek). And Tyas is trying out for SMU. Hmm J

I am so happy I met my friends back again. Though i lost an eraser, I still met my old friend and got a hug from her. J

2last year and this year, my parents went to overseas for quite a few times. i didnt go along with them, but they brought me many gifts.

they went to korea-japan, china, thailand (2X), malaysia and singapore.
quite a deal, huh?

but i am happy they went over and i wasnt jealous i didnt tag a long either. or maybe i am a tad jealous because if i went to korea i can buy many things there... (like yang gaeng... CDs and photobooks!)

but they brought me many gifts! wanna see?

those are the gifts from thailand! i like the wallet a lot but the leather quality wasnt that good.

of course, this was when they went over to japan

i forgot to take pics of the set of gifts they got me from china, but it was (if i remember correctly, skin product, cakes, biscuits, keychains and such).

i am happy that my keychain collection is added. ahahaha

Have you ever heard of certain myths, beliefs or whatever it is called for certain things that usually older people believe but sounds absurd?

I know quite a few.

Like, many people suggested to me that we cannot shake our legs because it will chase away bad luck.

Or I can’t wash my hair while having periods.. because it cant stop my period all of sudden.

Or you can’t say “i hate ______” because in the end you will get what you hate.

Or. This one is a more of medical one, like you have to drink your urine as a medication to get better health. I have read before that there is no medical proof that stated urine can cure sickness, but weirdly, many people believe it, do it and get healed. I don’t know what to say, hahaha.

There are many others that you can find of, do share with me if you ever heard a few.

This is weird but to me, i never believed in those myths but surprisingly, it works. Call it a mystichal belief of a suggestive effect to the brain, but it does work.

I know perfectly well that there might be no connection from hair to your uterus, but if i wash my hair during my first day of period, it will surprisingly stop. Ha. It really come true, for me at least.

I have read countless reviews that many people say it is fake, but it just works for me and i don’t know why.

It started when i was very young, so, up till now, im kind of scared if i wash my hair during first day of period.

Can anyone of you share what weird myths that really come true to you?

This time i wanted to write about my holidays! And before let me present to you...

My driving license!

Overseas, getting a driving license may have call for a celebration as it marks an achievement or something like that. But trust me, none of that applies in Indonesia due to its corrupted system. Thus making a license = no special meaning.

Anyway, i may be the 2nd chipmates member who got license after Edwin, am i?
I think so. But even if i have license it also means nothing since driving in Indonesia is just damn hard.

If you have mastered driving in Jakarta, you are already comparable to a world-class F1 driver. The disgusting road system just frustrates the drivers so much and it’s so dangerous to actually drive in Jakarta. While i’m driving on the left lane in Kemayoran, suddenly there will be some 5-years old playing their nonsense in the middle of the road, or some fruit sellers, or just another vehicle coming to directly to you, while it’s actually a ONE WAY LANE and many other what-nots that may kill drivers due to high blood pressure.

See the problem is? So, i’m not perfect yet to drive around my friends. My uncle who is my driving trainer is the one who actually got scared and panic over EVERYTHING. While i’m so calm and composed, he can suddenly be so panic and more often than not, makes me irritated. And so is my driving story.

Another thing is now I'm currently taking a 3-months Language course in Goethe Insitut, Menteng. Can i just say i love it? I can say my two weeks stay in Goethe actually surpass my 2 years experience in JJ (of course i still love my close friends in JJ! :D).

My classmates are pretty nice, easy to get along to and funny. This experience makes me yearn to study in Indonesia again. The thing is, actually almost all of them are older than me. 2 of them are already married and have kids. Some are already graduates who are continuing their Masters studies. They really are cool, people of different races mix together talked to each other. Many of them are smokers, but i don’t judge them, hate them or what, because just because they smoke, it doesn’t meant that they are any lesser than us. It’s their personal choice and I respect it.

But seriously, its cool to hang out with people WAY older than your current age. One is an aspiring musician who wants to continue his studies in the land of Bach. Another is 32-year old who is just so hardworking and wants to continue his Master in the field of engineering. Another one is a very nice and pretty girl whom you can easily mistaken as ‘pemain sinetron’ just because how adorable and sweet her face is.

But we haven’t got to the point whereby we hang out in Malls yet.. I think my friends think I’m a daddy’s little girl since i got someone wait for me after classes and i go straight back home, while most of them drive already and free to hang out anywhere after school. Sigh. This is life of a kiddo.

Okay, there was a time i tweeted about how i wanted to defer a year before continuing Uni right? Its not that i wanted to stop for a year and laze around, but i want to use that year to study German and go there to study. Some of you might think its insane. May think it’s a waste of time. But currently it is still a plan, undecided yet.

I don’t know.

I know, one year may not even be enough to master the language required in University.
I have studied English all my life and i still suck at it. When was the last time i get an A for English? Even that mister muscleman in sec 4 (what’s his name again? Is it mr chu? I don’t know, XM, what’s that history teacher who taught us English in upper sec?) described my English as “HAPHAZARD”. How heart breaking.

Sigh. Anyway i think i blogged to much as for now, it’s becoming a book.

You should know when you must forgive your parents.

Having experiencing 19 years of life, i finally realize that parents may not be the most perfect person to look up to. We should look up to them, but we know they’re not the best one regarding such things. Maybe there isn’t anybody who is perfect to look up too.

Parents, like us children, do make mistakes too. Maybe not on regular basis, maybe compared to ours, they only do 10% or even 5% out of all our mistakes. It maybe the things they say, the promises they never fulfilled, the decisions they set us to take...

But sometimes I feel like, perhaps it’s a famous one, parents think they're always right. Sometimes they realize they are wrong, they didn’t really admit it. They might leave hints here and there to say that they’re sorry but yeah... maybe you know it better than i do.

Not saying that my parents are like this or are currently making me disappointed or such... but i just feel this way..
Nevertheless i do believe whatever they do, be it right or wrong, they have us in mind. They want us to live as perfect as they can make it to be..

So, maybe i’ll just..

Forgive them when they’re wrong..

Forget that they have broken our hearts too..

Forgive and forget just like when we hurt them too.

Yes. That’s how i should be.

Me and Medicine

When i’m young, i always thought i’ll be a doctor. There’s no other option i can think of other than that. It started just because i was clueless and ‘doctor’ was the common answer among kids when they’re asked “what would you like to be?”

Then as time goes by i started to be interested in it, thinking maybe i would really be a doctor. I like biology and chemistry, i like memorizing, i really think being a doctor is my aim in life. But growing up, then i really realize the pros and cons of this choice of career. To be frank, i’m interested in medical not because of my morale concerns, i admit i’m not a spiderman who will sacrifice his life there to save the world, save lives. I may not be that kind of person.

I just like medical for being, er, medical.
I’m curious on why the body got sick and why it heals. I’m curious about operations, what did the doctors do when they cut your body open?
I’m interested in that kind of thing.

But then i came across to A Level biology.
Well, i dropped it since when i reconsider my options, maybe im just not suited to be a doctor.

Im not smart enough.
Not strong enough.
Not hardworking enough.
Not diligent enough.
Not patient enough.

Ask me a thousand different questions on why i cannot be a doctor and i can give you a thousand answers.
but ask me a reason on why i'm suited to be one and i cannot answer you.

I'm lacking to be a doctor in many different ways. So i concluded maybe..
I’m just not gonna be a doctor.
Besides, how can i study medical when i found myself struggling with a levels? When i found i may not fit to do a level biology...*sigh*
Being a doctor is not about the fame. About the ‘degree’. About the monetary reasons *although it really is promising*..
You gotta contribute a lot. Your social life, maybe *depends on what type of doctor you’ll be..surgeon, etc*.

but now i found myself being really lost.
Not knowing what to do.
What should i study?

Engineering? DEFINITELY NOT. To HELL with physics.
Business? Well, maybe.. But i do not want to be a businessman just because “i have nowhere to go” or “i have no other choice”.

I want to do something that relates to my hobby and i don’t know what it is.

I seriously... feel.. helpless.....

Hello! Hahaha, i wonder how many of you miss this blog. It’s just so dusty and old now... i have so many things to tell, so much things to share yet i do feel lazy to type everything out.

Anyway, cut the entire story short, i have completed A Level (successfully, in the name of God, AMEN.) around 30november2009. Just to realize, i have totally chosen the wrong options for the past 2 years. For the past two years, i have wasted my life, wasted all the things i should and could do but now i know i shall not being regretful but accept all this.

An evaluation to myself, and perhaps tips for some of you considering A Level, it is really not an easy choice. How shall i say it, actually A Level content is pretty much the same as any other year 12 syllabus in any countries, Malaysia’s STPM, or whatever you call it, but perhaps it is the way Singapore’s questions are structured, marked and decided that makes it irritating. Moreover with lesser subjects focused (as compared to Indonesia’s overwhelming 12 subjects that can be taken by any regular year 12 students) the harder the questions get.

I have bought Indonesia’s biology and chemistry year 12 summary books out of curiousity as i want to compare everything but now I’m pretty busy so i haven’t really have the chance to study seriously. But if i can, i want to try out Indonesia’s university too.

I know i am not dumb. But going through A Level in Singapore’s JC system make me realize that it is a structure that not many people can take. I know many MANY people in JCs who are NOT stupid yet they just don’t do as well for a level. Perhaps it’s the system. Not many people can take the super ridiculously big lecture system at such tender young age *16-17 year olds are pretty young and playful, you know* while the content taught in lectures are important, hard and require lots of focus. So what is the result???

-people fell asleep during lectures, play, sms-ing, chatting, creating a disgusting environment to study especially in my JC *coughjurongjuniorcollegecough*

Compare to, say, in Indonesia, Korea, Japan and perhaps other countries that have small classroom based system for regular year 12 students. (or 3^rd year high school).

To tell you straight on the face, not many people are READY for big 1:600 lecturer-student ratio at 16/17. Yes, of course some of you may rebut, “what? You’re kidding me? So childish! If i can handle it, then why can’t you?”

Let me tell you that how individuals’ brain might work may differ a lot from each other. Naturally, there are those who have brains like sponge and absorb everything in an instant. Then there are those who, if got stuck at a step, they will lose everything and got confused. The latter would be a disaster if they are put in a lecture system that simply cannot wait for everyone.

Perhaps, we would be more ready for lecture system when we grow older, 18-19years old, already knowing what to do (what subject to focus), mature and independent might adjust better in lecture-tutorial system.

Moreover, 2^nd fail thing in my college is the sucky tutorial system. What the heck. Having experiencing another college for a month or so in 2008, i know the huge difference of the teaching style between the 2 colleges. Oh god, my school is pretty hopeless..

Eventually, going through the 2 year, i have experienced mental, physical and many other changes that simply can’t be put into words. It taught me a lesson, a very important and hurtful one about studies.

i actually wanted to start and write everything about a levels, but i think talking about it would just be a pain in the ass so i guess i'll stay quiet.
after the paper i went to ride the bus, it was a long journey. i usually hated long rides but if i'm in trouble or in deep thoughts, i kind of like it. I decided to go bugis, i dont know why but i just feel like it, so i went alone since all my friends have things to do.

oh yeah, i think i'm becoming more antisocial. i dont think i like meeting people already, even if its old friends. i'm just....

i dont blame him, maybe the reason why he keeps talking because i actually responded to him, smiled, asked him things too.
i dont know why, maybe because my mood wasnt that good, and i dont know him anyway so i just nod and respond, besides, he looked familiar.

Recently i have been wanting to take care of my body more. I wish to live a healthier life as from now on.

I wish to exercise more, eat healthier, consume vitamins and rest early. Perhaps spending less time on the internet will help too.

now i consume vitamin C and multi-vitamins.

not really on a daily basis, just when i feel i dont eat enough healthy stuff.

i dont know why i start to be like this, but i think i simply consume too much rubbish, stuff like junk food, biscuits and chocolates that is simply =(

so, i want to start anew.

now that i actually know exercising doesnt help much to lose, i realize i should put more emphasize in dieting habits instead.

Perhaps, during late night, when we got really hungry after skipping dinner, i should just eat brown rice and side dish instead of gobbling down packets of biscuits and milk that doesnt satisfy the hunger.

My cousin actually loses 50kg in about a year or less, hopefully i can do some magic and do likewise too. :)

You probably have known, the past few days have been devastating for me. Apart from the screwed up exam result, now this. Apparently the world is one scary place.

Before i start, let me enlighten you that this whole issue is NOT just about KPOP. even if this issue comes from unknown country, or Kazahkstan, Ulan Bator, Mongolia, North Korea even Planet Xkhasphya or whatever, I will still be writing the same thing. Please, we are talking about human lives, we are talking about people's feeling, career and passion.

Perhaps you may not know, Korean internet forums/fancafe waddahack you call that, is a big and happening thing in korea. Netizens play a huge role in commenting and giving feedbacks to the artists, up to the point it gets too much too handle. Anti-fans start to blossom, trying to get into celebrities' way. They do every little shameful and low-level things just to express their hatred. There have been cases whereby celebrites and fans committed suicide. What a sick world.

So there was this teenage idol, namely Jay Park aka Park Jaebeom. He was talent-scouted in USA and brought to Korea to be groomed into an awesome performer. So he went, trained, spent 4 years of hard work and finally he got his dream. After a few months releasing second single, after debuting in one year, his boyband got uber-famous.
His group, boyband 2PM, was (or i prefer IS) well-loved by many Korean and international fans.
He brought a lot of laughter to viewers life. Being a witty guy, he did not being too image-conscious as an idol. I may not know him personally, we lived in two different parts of the world, but I think he is a sincere performer.

Until a few days ago, some netizens found out his myspace profile and old comments from 4 YEARS AGO "offending Koreans" (mind you, that comments are only a FEW lines, i have people in my country who bashed our own country IN PUBLIC.)
Yes, he wrote offending things.
But he manned it up and owned up.
He apologized. He didn't act like a scaredy-cat and he owned up that it was his action.
(for all you know, some artists may say useless things like accounts getting hacked or whatnots nonsense. but he didnt. he put his career at stake and begged for forgiveness).

He explained that being a Korean who cannot speak any Korean language at the start of his trainee days was hard. He got culture shock, he was lonely and stressed up. Thus out of a moment of folly, he wrote things like "Korea is gay, i want to go back".
Please, i AM not supporting him just because i like him, but i can sense how he feel.
being an international student, despite my homecountry is SUPER NEAR to the current one I am staying and having a sister with me, i even got a little bit of culture shock. it was hard. life was not easy for me.

So then things got blown out of proportion. instead of forgiving, netizens bashed him and say things like "you should go back to your own country" and such. just by minutes, petition wanting him to kill himself got signed by 3000 people.
Seriously, even as you read this, dont you find this thing RIDICULOUS?
I understand the sense of patriotism, how hurt and how their nation pride is at stake. But people, we err. Human err.
We are not God that does everything perfectly. We forgive, because that what makes us humans.
and seriously.
It is a myspace comment.
Not like he bombed a nation and laughed about it.
In my country, people (terrorists) killed thousands and is still worshipped as "heroes"

I keep telling myself i will believe that, although it is rather ridiculous, how can a person just leave and come back.

I personally dont really prefer a character like this but...they still exist.

The Joker

i have never thought what 'ideal' types and all that. never, i think even as i am writing this, I'm just doing it for fun as mostly those type of people you prefer don't really end up with you, anyway.

first of all, for me, i don't really like to "type" people e.g guys/friends/etc. i just feel that "who am i to type?" but i think there are some preferences in life that you would want to consider, those little features about the opposite sex that attracts you first.

for me.

actually i have a 'rule'. not really rule, i have always thought a guys should be bigger than the girl. so actually, yeah, i like bigger guys! lol. hehehe. Big can be counted as cuddly so yeah, it's better if a guy is bigger/taller/fatter than the girl.

Physically, i never really think about it, as long as when people pass by, saw him and recognize that he is a girl, can already. He need not get perm/long rebonded hair and such because that is such a HORROR.

I think dorky and funny guys are approachable. Based on my observations, girls just tend to fall for funny guys, i don't know why.

i remember i first came to know korean things in primary 5, through the drama endless love. lol. it was such a great yet heart-wrenching drama. i loved all the soundtracks and told myself that korean music is beautiful.

Sometimes I dont get why churches fight with each other, speaks ill of each other and keeps on criticizing each other. The way people preach or people praise and worship.
I know sometimes it might be out of 'constructive crticism', but if it gets too much, it is so unpleasant to the ear.

Why spark hatred among us? We are all brothers and sisters worshipping the same God.
We love Jesus and it all that matters.

Yes, people may have different views on each other, different way of teaching, etc. But i really dont get the fighting part.

Just like saying I Love You.

If i say Je T'aime, Aishiteru, Wo Ai Ni or something like that, does the meaning change?

it's just a different way of expressing but with the same content.

Anyway, i heard one of my friends is not continuing his A level anymore,
Truthfully, it is a decision i almost made last year December.
Actually, i keep thinking, why should i do a path that is not gonna make my dream comes true.
Why should study in a school i dont even like,
in a course i barely have interest in.

I am thankful i have supportive parents who promised to support me in whatever i am doing.
They even say, i should be doing what i like, they support me even if i do things that are not really money making.
Once, my mom sees me studying the Korean Language for early beginners (self study book) and she even suggested me to go Korea to study the language if i have the passion for that.

Music, language, performing arts or design seems to be what my parents prefer.

i thought a lot.
but finally i decided just to give it a shot.
i remember that scary PE teacher (isaac lim?) advice that, the place/the course/the life i am having now is at the expense of another person.
many people wish to study in JC and i shall not waste the opportunity.

Sometimes i'm just thankful i can wake up in the morning and i'm still breathing.
i'm just thankful i have nothing to worry about, i have enough food and i dont need to dig out the dustbin in order to fill my stomach.

I am thankful.

On the other parts of the the world, some people think as living another day as a curse.
It is just so hard to live, to eat and to drink, it hurts them too much.

I do not listen and restrict myself to KPOP only.
Perhaps some of you might know i listen to Mandarin songs too and you might ask yourselves why would i be so busybody to listen to other languages.
But actually, i love to listen to melodies.
Harmonies, instrumentals, rapping, bands, you name it, i love it all!

Recently i have been expanding my 'earbuds' (or eardrums? it suits better).
Nvm, you call tastebud for tongues, i dont know what to name for ears.
Now i listen to more instrumentals, classicals and old songs. Perhaps, i might expand my preference to Jazz and all that stuff that i thought was heavy for me in the past.
Now i listen to more gospel, more rap and of course, more Jpop and KPOP.

English pop songs is a must. RnB like Usher, Sisqo and Lionel Ritchie is my cup of tea.
I'm trying to listen to Indian songs too, but instrumentals only..
Because i just realize that the music industry rely a lot on Indian sounds..
I love Jai Ho (You're My Destiny) by PCD and A.R Rahman.
And there's a uber cool Korean song that uses Indian melody that is totally awesome..

But somehow, i cant force myself to like dangdut. (Some traditional ethnic song in indonesia)
Usually the lyrics is erotic and the melody is just plain BLAH.

Tomorrow is my last Chem SPA and I must say I am quite scared.

I went out with all the PAE peeps on Friday and it was nice! I missed them so much.
I want to go out more but at the same time, the clock is ticking for A Levels.

I watched handsome suit with Anelie and Kezia yesterday. It was those type of movies you can guess the ending at the moment the movie started. haha. It was a cheap thrill,but i still fell for it anyway.

So i tried my luck to donate blood once again. but as i expected my iron content (Hb level?) in my blood is not enough. lol.

Sometimes i am really wondering about the whole ga-ga over Facebook. Not that i despise facebook, but isnt Friendster is about the same? Then why do Facebook gets more attention? I am neither a fan of both sites. I do have accounts at both FB and FS, but yeah, nowadays i seldom log in.

What a sad life, not only there's no interesting experience, my life is just full of bad experiences. Anyway, today in this bus there's a loud, high-frequency sound that sounds like the noise you used to call dolphin. It was IRRITATING and if it goes on, passengers can just go deaf. Wth.

Now, there's a lot of stuff i want to buy. I want to get either a polaroid camera to capture the bits and pieces of my life. Either that, or of i cant find it, i'll just get a compact photo printer.
For those of you who dont know polaroid picture, it looks like this.

The photos are printed directly. I dont care how, im gonna put my life on a stake just to get that camera. I heard singapore dont sell that kind of cameras anymore.

how come anywhere i go, i always see people with funny kinds of handphone.
i mean, handphone nowadays have been so diverse and vary widely. oh.
it seems that haptic kind of phones (touch screen) are getting very popular!

anyway, i think i have bad relationships with handphones and i dont know why.
it started as a habit that i do not like to bring heavy and valuable things in my pocket, therefore i often leave it behind.

i dont really bring aroung my phone and usually it is in silent mode. and it becomes a bad habit that i do not bring and care for it.

often, i reply messages late and missed my calls!

even worse, i always get important calls/smses when i left my phone (accidentally or purposely), but whenever i bring it, no sms or call... (-___________-)

so, one of my new year resolution is to get better with this connection to the world and conversation thingy...

Alright, it's the holidays!!!!!! I'm elated.

But I am not sure why, but it seems that I cant keep my promises. I tend to break it~ I have written lots of promises but it never stays.

I just wanted to share this experience. Remember I posted (long time ago) that I always HAVE weird encounters in buses? I just did it again.

I think it was Friday,after CNY celebration, I was on my way home in 198, tuning in to 987. The DJs are talking about PDA (Public Display Affection), whether or not it should be shown or just keep all the affections private.
After a while I fell asleep in the bus.

and GUESS what I saw when woke up????

Right beside me there was a couple (I was seated at the very back since the bus was crowded intially.) and they were MAKING OUT. wait, I think they were MORE than making out.
It was like a FOREPLAY. I think they were about to have sex right on the bus or something.

aiyoh, please huh. next time GET A ROOM.

not that i am being a bitch and complaining endlessly, but seriously, it was disturbing.
PDA has never been a problem for me BUT when you are seated right next to a couple with hands all over each other's private parts and about to take off their shirts, it could be somewhat horrifying.

Oh, what a forgotten blog.
Anyway, welcome 2009!!! It has been a new year and i want to be a new me. i have a few resolutions and i decided to make it work, instead of leaving it just in the corner like last year's.

I want to update the blog regularly too, but i just have no time and will to do that.. ^^

my holiday was so-so. how about yours?

the funny thing is, the excited part is on the last few days of the holidays.
On the 1st of Jan, the whole family followed Dad to his secondary school's reunion, why? Because it wasn't just a simple reunion. my dad has this billionaire friend that owns hotel, island, casinos and many more. He was among either top 20 or top 10 richest man in Indonesia.

No, my dad is not as crazily wealthy like him, just a former classmate. but it was really a uber COOL experience.

On the 31st i went to my uncle's place to have barbecue and a 'little' party.i will try to upload photos. Then at about, 10pm, we left to Hotel Borobudur (the hotel that man owns), to meet up with my dad's friend (another friend).
So, as usual we get to wander about the hotel. the thing is, we went to the club. I wasnt exactly underage, i am old enough. But just as expected, i dont like it.

I just dont understand why people like to spend their nights on stuffy place full with smoke and music that almost sounded like noise. if it were me, i would prefer to cuddle with my blanket on my bed and have a good night's rest.
Nevertheless, it was a new experience for me.

I tried driving again and it was err,,, so-so. My sis is much better than me since she took lessons.
I couldnt wait till i'm good at it, anyway.

this year, i aim to have good results. thats pretty much the main resolution. i have a few more, but the priority is A level. At school, teachers keep reminding us we only have about 7 months to go to the big A.

oh. i dont know.

i'm planning to sign up for tuition or something. or it would be great if i have doraemon by my side.

that's all i wanted.

I admit, I haven’t been doing much. Lol. I promise I will start revise and do my tutorials SOON. Like, in DAYs! (Maybe tomorrow). Gosh, I am so bad and guilty right now.

Anyway, I have thought of closing this blog since I haven’t been writing much and my ideas of writing is pretty much dried out. I have nothing interesting to tell and my life itself is boring.

But the thought of closing… all the memories, will be gone. I don’t want that of course… but I also hate the idea if this blog becomes a place to start complaining, venting anger and stuff.

I want a blog to be entertaining.. that’s all.. hahaha.

How’s your holidays so far? Mine has been quite alright, and I am in glee seeing my niece, Sharisse, for the first time. She’s so small! Goodness, I didn’t believe I was THAT small last time, perhaps I was suddenly born big and fat. Hhaha.

I envy baby skin.. they are so smooth, white and nice. Not covered with those measly pimples and scars like those you have in your teenage years..

Ok, I shall stop spouting nonsense and start study for my block test this Jan.

I found out a lot of shocking news this few days. :0
Firstly, I watched this variety shows that asks 50 people about a survey question. And the question is "Why are there students with lowest average marks (in school)?"

and the answers are hilarious. like

- cause i am rich
- cause i am good-looking...

acceptable ones are
- cause it doesnt match their interest
- the syllabus also doesnt interest them
- no matter how hard they study the result is still like that.

and the most ridiculous one is actually a guy admitting that if he study too much, he get haemorrhoid (sp?), that kind of disease that make you bleed when you do your big business due to prolonged seating.

lol. The MCs were like, "what? so stupid students have bad butt?"

and another question is actually they surveyed 50 taxi drivers and asked them "what do you receive as a compensation if the passengers do not have enough money?"
I was kind of surprised that apart of the common ones like IC, handphone/business cards (to contact and ask the money again), they ACTUALLY received 4D tickets, VIAGRA (gosh!), and a one day DATE! lol.

I never knew these things actally happened in real life.

And today's OP. I got the chance to hear the most ridiculuous answer during Q&A. I really do not know whats wrong with that person's head. Whether he is joking or not...Goodness. I wonder..

Another thing. Just now when i was walking at the MRT station, i saw this lady. She wasnt exactly what you call small, and was actually kind of both vertically and horizontally challenged.
Quite big-sized.
She was wearing a large skirt and dropped her wallet. Then she squat (mind you, SQUAT not BEND down to pick) and the way she squat... OM goodness!

She squatted like how your 2 year old cousin would do. Showing her *you know what i mean* freely without much consideration and hesitation. oh,

Why I am Weird, Alvl & Last Day, Why such person exist

Before I say anything, I just wanna express my agitated feeling. I wonder why such immature person exist! As OLD as my sister but still behave like that! omg. I dont know what that person consumes until it seems that the brain cells doesnt grow and is comparable to kindergarten kids.
I am irritated by the comments, the way of talking, the behaviour, basically everything that person has.

I still cant believe that person is as old as my favourite ____ _____ . OMG.

Anyway, yesterday was the last day of school, I believe most school ended on last Friday but not JJ that tries to be SPECIAL. ugh. They don't even have opening/closing year event that AES used to have. After much thought I realize perhaps thats because JJ is not a Catholic school.
Hm, I actually spend almost all my life in religious school.
My 2 kindergartens are Catholic and Christian. Primary still Christian. Then I moved to a mixed-religion school. Back to Catholic in AES and a lil bit during PAE (CJC). So now its the first time Ive been in a mixed school after some time.

I need to endure for one more week. Coz thats when I'm done with PW.

anyway, I think last Friday's copy of The Straits Times is amusing. There is this sentence by Jay Chou, he says his future girlfriend can only listen to his songs. And for a while I have always thought why Sporean ICs still record 'race' as a must-identity, why not call Singaporean and not Singaporean CHinese, Singaporean Malay, etc.. The newspaper discuss that a bit. hoho.

I have always thought myself very weird. Lets do a fun facts list, like what those stars used to do.

1) I dont really like to communicate.
Perhaps that's why I dont really like handphone, MSN, sms, email. Whatever. I pretty much live in my own planet and i reply smses VERY late. Coz I dont bring my phone around with me. I think that is BOTHERSOME. Dont you think so? You carry around a radiating device in your pocket that potentially harm your WOMB and sperm count, and that isnt really a pleasant thing.
I just live my phone in one room (most of the time in OFF or SILENT mode), while i do my stuff in another room. Thats why the fastest i reply messages is about within 2 hour or more.

2) I dont like bland food.
I hate tasteless food. That includes porridge, rice, boiled eggs/potato, other forms of rice (sushi is alright, since it has taste).
If I order gado-gado in Jakarta, I will tell my mom, I dont want the stuffi listed above and my mom was like, "WHAT!? Then why did you order that?" In the end my gado gado consists of measly veggies since i leave all the expensive stuff like potato and eggs.

3) I want to kill the one who invents stilettos
stilettos are bothersome. It doesnt make you smarter wearing them....but...
oh.

4) I dont like pudding
many people find this weird.

i think there's more weird stuff about me. Like how i collected people who has same/near birthday as me. or... there's a lot more. You should do that too, find the weird facts about yourself. I think it is some form of soul-searching as well. LOL.

it's a tough decision, really. But I think I will choose the past. I have so many mistakes in the past, at times I want to be re-born and lead a new life.

Secondly, sometimes it hurts me so much to think that I cant really give back to my parents.
They did so much for me, they loved all their children with all their heart and life, yet from time to times I always disappoint them.
Always hurt them.
Always do stupid and wrong things.

I envy my friends who can at least make their parents smile proudly. I used to tell Kinshi and other CJC scholars (I MISS YOU GUYS!!) that they are so fortunate to be able to lift a bit of theur parents' burden.
Speaking of them, I really miss those crazy guys.

Anyway, Zhi Heng, Mei Qin, Jin Hwee, Jing Hui had our occasional "high-level" talk. I think it is very funny.. Hahaha. it has been a long time since I have "high-level talk" with indogang, and I really miss those "waiting-for-choir-session" and "high-level-talk". Hoho. I miss you guys too. Havent heard from you people for ages! X(

Mr Lai talks about money matters again in class. Uggh. It is like the 118350681943609165th time talking about money. I know Mr Lai is not stingy or a crook, but I wonder why he isnt bored with the monetary topic. lol.

Oh, when i was riding the 970 bus back home,
(I didnt know 970 recently updated their buses, so comfortable! I love the new bus!!!!!! So comfortable, so nice to sleep, smells fresh and of course, elderly-friendly! Singapore really goes the extra mile to prepare ageing population, I guess..)

anyway, recently I keep seeing secondary students holding onto what looked like O level question papers, so I guess O level has started..

Chain Mail

I really hate chain mails, chain sms, chain whatever you call it.
It's alright if the mails contain nice/funny pictures or quotes or something encouraging.

But my blood just boils when i receive somethings like;

"you'll die if you dont repost in 3seconds"
"this picture is cursed, send to 10ppl in 4mins"
"this is not chain mail, open" <=== when in fact it IS a chain mail..
"if you dont repost, something bad is going to happen.

man, all of that SUCKS. and i dont buy it.

if all of that is true, many millions of people would have died long time ago due to such things.

your life isnt controlled by an EMAIL.
it is more precious than that!
there is no science in chain mail, so just stop spreading it around.

it's not because i am agitated or what. but a few days ago, i was cleaning up my emails due to tonnes of unopened emails. there are about 12984602391764-630173-9465-19486-9164 of them (?) hahahaha.

so i cleaned my mail.
opened it one by one. to check if there is any important mails unopened. and just as you guess, 90% of them are CHAIN MAILS.
and it contains gory, irritating, useless pictures that simply created to scared the hell out of you.

and you see, exposure to this things did something to your brain for a while. My brain must have captured those images and keep it inside my head. There is this disgusting picture of a woman's breats that is EATEN UP by a worm that TOTALLY I DONT WANT TO SEE!

And at night.
I got a nightmare.
I cant really remember what, but apparently, it IS scary. It is so scary I want to wake up and dont wanna sleep again.
But since the during the day I ran on treadmill+swim, I was too tired to wake up. So while I dreamt, I know I was dreaming, and keep saying, "this silly dream, just go away, I want to get a good night's rest!"

Hmm, I'm kind of confused on what to write, since I have not been doing much lately.
Hm, nowadays my life revolves around this things.. let me just blog about it!

First,

Actually, not only YouTube, but crunchyroll and mysoju too.. Hhhaa, yes, I am a big fan of this websites that allow me to watch drama without hurting my pocket. And thanks to the subbing team too! (team that translate and write subtitle of the drama so that i can understand the japanese/korean/taiwanese drama)
Not only drama, i watche stupid behind the scenes, commercials, reality shows that are very interesting. No wonder the first thing I do when I reach home after school is to go straight to computer to on it.

Secondly,

Cereal drink! Not this brand, I usully buy the Nissin(?) I dont know, the SUPER brand one.
I like it a lot, but i didnt mix it with water, i just open and eat the powder. Hhahahah! =)
But it's nice, isnt it? How many of you like to eat milk powder? I love it, especially chocolate flavour ones.
And you can make ice-cream out of these things.
I can finish the whole pack (20 small packets inside) within 2-3 days! No wonder I am getting fatter...

Thirdly,

Girl's Generation lovestuff..

They are female version of morning musume and SHE (only third time the size~ they consist of 9 members) Very, very cute, I love it when they appear on variety shows. So funny!
In the pic is TaeNy (Taeyeon - Tiffany) I like the pair, I dont mind even if they turn lesbians. Hahaha!
Because, their friendship and love shared among them is so sweet, it reminds me of a good bestfriend and lovely friendship. =)
They even called each other "wife". So cute.

Next,

Stupid and silly Korean variety shows. (Family Outing, We Got Married, Star King, 2D1N..etc)

ahahahaha, this can relief your stress, VERY MUCH.
They are so silly, i wish i can have a tiny bit of their sense of humour.
But in order for you to laugh, i think you must first understand a bit of the 'background' of the variety show. Like the artists' and MC's story.
So, when i showed my sister this, she laughed (she is not a K-fan) but she didnt laugh as much as I did, pretty much because of the understanding barrier, I think..
So, those who really love K-stuff, such shows are a must watch!

Hmm, yesterday i was thinking of what to watch, and while i was remembering my sec 4 days.
Suddenly i think of Koizora~ I remembered Kezia saying it was nice. So i watched it.

Its quite a nice movie, and i love Haruma Miuraaaa!

I have never liked Japanese guys, i do know WaT and Takki, but thats all. I dont even really like them as much. But Haruma is cool! He's at my age too. Very few asian can pull of a look with a total silver/white hair, but it think he did that anyway.

In the movie, he plays a bad-ass boy with a sweet, loving and warm heart. Hey, which girl will not fall for that? Which bad-boy will take away girls' virginity and be responsible about it?
When he got the girl (in the movie) pregnant, there is a scene where I thought he was running away (from the responsibility). But it turns out that he was running to buy a box of chocolate (?) for the girlfriend, congratulate her and saying I'm going to be responsible about it.
Cute.
